Mohammad Talha wants helpful tracks in international and domestic cricket – Cricket News Update
Frustrated by the flat batting tracks in domestic as well as international cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Talha-c77400, has urged the authorities to prepare supporting tracks, to even out the bat and ball battle.
Since the inception of limited-overs cricket in the 1970s, the pitches have become flatter and flatter as the crowds want the batsmen to dominate and post big scores on the board.
However, the batting friendly conditions have hampered the growth of fast bowlers in the world as there are very few genuine speedsters going around in international cricket at the moment.
Commenting on the pitches prepared for the first two Tests between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and Galle and Colombo respectively, Talha believes that the tracks were like graveyards for the fast bowlers.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Junaid-Khan-c77037, the left-arm fast bowler, who has grabbed
two five-wicket hauls in the series so far.
“I would like to see a more even contest between bat and ball around the world in first class and International cricket. Wickets such as SSC in Colombo are not doing International cricket any good as they do not provide incentive for the bowlers to work
hard,” Talha said. “On the domestic front, more bowler friendly wickets would improve the techniques of Pakistani batsmen and encourage the bowlers as well.”
While talking to Pakpassion, the Faisalabad-born admitted that he faced fitness issues earlier in his career, which hampered his growth at the international stage. However, the 23-year-old is fit once again and is geared up to make a comeback.
“Injuries in the past have hindered my career progress but I am hopeful that those problems are behind me now and I am looking forward to the future,” he added.
Considering the dearth of genuine fast bowlers in the country at the moment, Talha is surely in contention to return to the national side for the limited-overs series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 in August/September.
