Mohammad Yousuf clarifies his claim of valid NOC – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s batting legend, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Yousuf-c77465, has denied allegations of submitting a fake No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Victoria Cricket Club authorities, prior to the commencement of the Dhaka League in March.
His remarks came after the officials of Abhani Club refused to continue their 4-day game against Victoria after being bowled out on 177. Abhani argued that the veteran had not been granted clearance from his previous club, Mohammadan, which subsequently
makes him ineligible to represent any other team.
The right-handed batsman was baffled by the whole situation and insisted that he had submitted the original NOC to the concerned authority, before going onto add that it was the league’s internal matter to resolve.
“The NOC letter was given to me by the Victoria club which obtained it after signing me on to play for them in the Dhaka league. Now whether it is a fake or genuine how should I know," said the veteran when the problem arose initially.
Yousuf’s comment however, sparked further confusion among BCB and the league’s management team, which then inquired into the whole matter, questioning the Victorian team’s officials regarding their issuance of NOC, which they believed should have been granted
by Mohammadan.
Following the uncertainty, Yousuf than finally cleared the air by conveying that he had received clearance from his former club.
"The quote has created some misunderstanding as it gave an impression that Victoria gave me the clearance without the consent of my previous club Mohammedan. In fact I was given the NOC by Mr. Lutfur Rahman Badal when I was playing for Mohammedan," Yousuf
said in a statement.
The controversy has further affected other domestic level cricket activities in the country, where media and general public have criticized the board over their mishandling of the whole episode.
Nevertheless, the league is underway but Yousuf’s fake NOC case is still under investigation after the BCB involved Intelligence agencies as well, who then further questioned the 37-year-old.
Despite expressing his disappointment, Yousuf has no plans to involve the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board.
