Mohammad Yousuf keen to revive his international career – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Yousuf-c77465, the out of favour middle-order batsman, has once again expressed his desire to play for Pakistan and claimed that he is mentally and physically ready to compete at the international stage.
The stylish right-hander is one of the best batsmen produced by Pakistan but he has been sidelined since 2010 on fitness grounds. Yousuf did not take part in the previous domestic season as he did not feel the hunger to play the game.
Yousuf has started to train once again since the last couple of months and was called in the National Cricket Academy by Pakistan’s coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Davenell-Frederick-Whatmore-c52571, who wanted to assess his fitness.
However, the 37-year-old was ignored by the national selectors once again, who believes that a player must take part in domestic cricket if he wants to be considered for the Pakistan team.
The Lahore-born cricketer has more than 17 thousand international runs under his belt with 39 centuries. Yousuf is currently on a private tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, where he will play for Lashings Cricket Club.
The veteran cricketer expressed that he is hungry to play the game once again and offered his availability to the selectors.
"Physically, I'm in good shape and mentally also I'm in great shape. I'm ready, able and willing to play for Pakistan any time the selectors want to call on me,” he expressed.
The batsman is now geared up to make his way to international cricket and knows that a lot of hard-work is required to regain his place in the Test team. In order to convince the selectors, Yousuf will play the whole of next domestic season in the country.
The seasoned campaigner is interested only in Test cricket but will play all the three formats in the national cricket.
Yousuf added, "The desire to play for Pakistan has never receded. This time around I will be playing domestic cricket. My plans are to feature in all of the tournaments in Pakistan, the Qaid-e-Azam Trophy, the National One-Day Cup and any Twenty20 tournaments
that are organised by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board."
Pakistan team is currently on the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 and Yousuf may have to wait a bit longer to make a comeback.
