Mohammad Yousuf to miss entire South Africa series to injury
Mohammad Yousuf will not play in the entire Test series against South Africa after he was diagnosed with a groin injury. The medical staff has said that it will take him around a fortnight to recover from the injury which means that he will miss the second
Test match against South Africa as well.
Yousuf was going to be a part of the first Test match for Pakistan against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 but had to be pulled out just minutes before the toss after he injured his groin. There was hope that the Pakistani middle-order would see the experienced trio of Yousuf,
Younis Khan and Misbah ul Haq together but that will clearly need to wait now.
Yousuf wasn’t a part of the Pakistani side for four months this year after he was banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board before being allowed back. He featured, on his return, in the third Test match against England before playing in the ODI series against the
same side. Then, he suffered from a groin injury which meant that he could not play in the T20Is and most of the ODIs before featuring in the fifth and the final ODI. It appears he aggravated the groin injury in this fifth ODI.
The Pakistani manager, Intikhab Alam said, "Its an old injury Yousuf sustained before the one-day series last month and since it will take two weeks to heal we are sending him back and there will be no replacement. It is indeed disappointing because Yousuf
has been Pakistan's most reliable batsman and we needed him for this series."
The first Test match of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755-South Africa series started today in Dubai and saw the visitors pile up 265/2 in the first five hours of the day. Earlier, Pakistan had lost the T20Is 2-0 and the ODI series 3-2.
