can anyone tell me why mohenjo-daro means mound of the dead? please also tell me the english name of harappa and the origin of its name

  1. Harappa is derived from the name of an ancient king, as are many towns in India and Pakistan...

    In the 1920's when excavations were conducted, burial mounds were found in large numbers, thus accounting for the word, Mohenjo-daro!
