The former skipper of Pakistan and also a great fast bowler did a terrific job for Pakistan as head coach. He guided his side to the Semi-Finals of two World Cups in 2010 and 2011 in Twenty20 and 50-over formats respectively.

However, the board opted to send Mohsin with the team until a new coach was named. This was a delight for him and he stated, “I always wanted to coach the Pakistan team and for me it is a big challenge to also succeed as coach. It is not my team or the PCB's
team. It is Pakistan's team and those who are selected must justify themselves no matter how good they are.”

Pakistan will host three Tests, five ODIs and one Twenty20 against Sri Lanka in UAE. Both teams will go head to head against each other in the first Test of the series on Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
