Pakistan’s interim coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-Hasan-Khan-c77595 has claimed that his side is one of the best in the world and there is plenty of talent in the country which will not let any controversy affect the performance of the cricketers.
Mohsin was referring to the recent spot fixing case, which saw http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Amir-c76675 jailed in England.
The trio was found guilty of cheating and receiving corrupt payments to fix a cricket match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 at Lord’s in 2010.
Earlier, the International Cricket Council (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) had already taken action against the guilty players, banning them from playing any form of cricket for many years.
Although this incident put Pakistan cricket on the back foot, Mohsin believes that everything will be back to normal very soon with the amount of talent available in the country.
The former Test player said, “I personally feel Pakistan is definitely one of the top cricketing nations in the world and one of the most talented. The recent happenings [jailing of three former players for spot-fixing] has hurt us but we are trying not
to be affected.”
Despite losing three top class players, the Pakistan team has found a very good combination in all three formats of the game and there is stiff competition amongst players to find a spot in the playing eleven, especially in One Day Internationals (ODIs).
According to Mohsin, “We have some new inductions, wonderful replacements who are world-class players and who are very much suitable for the shorter version. For me every player is important and we will play the best possible 11 in every match.”
