Mohsin Khan expecting spin-friendly tracks in Sri Lanka – Cricket News Update
Former coach of Pakistan cricket team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-Hasan-Khan-c77595, is expecting spin-friendly pitches in the upcoming series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and feels that Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Rehman will play a huge role in the outcome of the battle.
These two teams faced each other in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) last year and Pakistan won in all the three versions of the game. The Test series was well fought but the Green Shirts triumphed by a margin of 1-0. However, Pakistan outplayed Sri Lanka in the
limited-overs portion of the tour, winning ODI series by 4-1 and clinched the only T20 as well.
Mohsin was the interim coach of the Men in Green at that time and while speaking to
Pakpassion, the former opening batsman expressed that the tracks in Sri Lanka are quite similar to those witnessed in UAE, which are supportive to batsmen and slower bowlers.

He feels, “I think the kind of pitches on which we played in UAE are not very different from the Sri Lankan pitches. It wasn’t swinging a lot, but it was seaming. The same can be expected in Sri Lanka also. If there are batting oriented pitches, the spinners
will definitely play a very important role.”
The former chief selector believes that Pakistan is lucky to have the services of two match-winners in the shape of Ajmal and Abdur Rehman. However, the Karachi-born ex-cricketer thinks that Sri Lankan batsmen are extremely professional and Pakistan will
have to take all their chances in the field, otherwise, the home team will be able to counter the threat posed by the spin-twins.
