my 13 y.o son has very dry skin especially in the summer (oddly).ive tried johnsons but he came out all blotchy (maybe the perfume not sure?), E45 was fine on his body but way too greasy for his face.(he was very very shiny!!lol)

Also, should I use the same amount on him as I would on myself, and when would be the best time to use it, and how often?

  1. i like aveno and cetipel body wash

  2. I second Aveeno, the green one!

  3. Take  advice from your local boots chemist but do not block your pours with it unless there is a reason so take there advice as they are the experts.

  4. Simple have just released an eczema and dermatitis range..it’s not greasy at all but it’s also not cheap. I use it and I’m very impressed

  5. Eucerin or Cetaphil- & let him do it himself.

  6. a moisturizer would be good. I would suggest coacoa butter too. It works wonders, and smells nice

  7. If it looks like eczema or another skin condition you should really go to the docs who'll advise you on what emollient to use, these are really pure moisturisers for eczema sufferers.  From my own experience of having eczema, there are a lot of moisturisers which can flare up/aggravate your skin.  Watch out for the ingredient lanolin as this is a common cause of a skin flare up in sensitive skin, and obviously perfume too.  Eucerin do a product range including moisturisers/bath products etc which are suitable for children with eczema/sensitive skin so would probably be a good product to try.

As for when to put it on?  Well after washing and whenever his skin feels dry/tight/sore.  Hope this helps!

  8. i am the exact same way. get oil free moisterizing cream, by neautrogena. it's not too expensive, but it works wonders.

  9. Also, try putting the cream on his face at night time, then wash it off in the morning with a moisturising soap, like Dove.

Have a word with your chemist, who should be able to suggest the right type of moisturising cream for your son (not oil based). Boots can also make up a cream for you without all the unnecessary ingredients you find in other products.

And the same amount applied as you would use yourself.

    xx
