Show your calculation of the molarity of the HCl solution

I added 35mL of HCI in a beaker and 38.7 of NaOH

molarity of acid x volume of acid = molarity of base x volume of base

Please help. I'm not sure how to do this and my paper is due today at 2am!!

  1. Total solution = 35 ml HCl + 38.7 ml NaOH = 73.7 ml = .0737 L

    Molar mass of HCl is 36 (H = 1, Cl = 35, total = 36 grams).  Given 35 ml, divide by 36 = 1.03 moles.  Molarity = moles / Liters = 1.03 moles / .0737 Liters = 14 M

  2. We must know the molarity of NaOH:

    0.0387 L x Molarity = moles NaOH

    = moles HCl

    moles HCl = 0.035 L = molarity HCl

  3. oooo titrations. good luck
