There is a cubby under my AC/Furnace that is the source of the mold. I live in an older house (military housing) and this cubby is one of the areas where the air is being drawn from. Because it is an older AC set up (with a newer a/c) the drainage tends to back up fairly often from what I've been told by the maintainence super who came out. Problem is, I'm allergic to two types of mold and I have a 4 month old son who seems to be exibiting some environmental allergies (probably got them from mom) and the worst of the smell coming from the vents is into his room. While I can't clean the ducts out, I can at least kill the source that I'm aware of.

  1. bleach also kills mold.  I do believe that both apple cider vinegar and white vinegar are the same acidity,  Should say on the jug.

  2. Yes apple cider vinegar is just as effective and maybe even more so, it is actually stronger in many ways.  It's also safer than using bleach as most people do and also specially with porous materials bleach is not proven to be effective nor is it recommended in the OSHA’s Mold Remediation/ Clean Up Methods but also mostly because bleach is like 99 percent water anyways.  Vinegar is a very good way of killing mold.  I rarely hear from people that know this.

  3. Are you saying you breathed it in? If so write me and I'll tell you what I do as a professional herbalist.

Now if you mean for walls then bleach is the way. Get strong rubber gloves and make sure you have good air flow and open a window if you can. You have to cover floor with plastic to not stain floor. Then get two buckets and mix bleach and warm water in one rinse  with clean water from the other bucket and let air dry.

    I'm a professional painter too.
