Mold growin in apartment basement?

the apartment im living in has a basement that always has standing water, and has mold everywhere. Who do I get ahold of to take care of this? Also I contacted to owner and they havent dont anything so I need somone else to go to

Try to get a hold of a few local contractors who are licensed and insured, and experienced with mold/standing water in basements. Get 2-3 free estimates then bring this to the landlord. Tell him he has 30 days to repair or you will withhold the rent (which is legal) If he gets smart or still doesn't do anything report him to the housing authority in your area. This is a serious health issue, and should not be overlooked.I would start by ventilating your home well, and especially removing any mold you can *see* with bleach and a scrubber. Otherwise you need to call your landlord and let him know you have been having health problems because of ( hint hint ) and wait for him to respond. If he becomes difficult I would then go the difficult route and give him notice. You must have some laws that will protect you against vermin, mold and other potential health issues, like plumbing for example!
