Mold growing on furniture downstairs...?

I live in the bottom half of a house and there is mold (white) growing on the bottom part of my furntiure. What is the best way to get rid of this?

  1. ewww...steam clean your furniture. rent a steam cleaner (or if you already have one.) take the cushions outside, whether it's your porch or you deck, and steam clean them there. after which, leave them out to air dry. for the furniture itself, just steam clean from there, let it set to dry, and maybe then you can put air freshener on. hope it works!


  2. Try spraying the mold area with lysol, it kills mold pretty quick, I would spray other areas as well, and consider getting a good air purifier that filters mold, if the mold spores get in your body you can get really sick. Figure out where the source of continual moisture is in that part of the house, and stop if from the source.
