Mold on cheese??????

Question

I just bought a pack of deli-sliceed cheddar cheese from the store...

Now when I got home I went to make a sandwich and there was mold on the corners of about 5 pieces....I picked it off ... the cheese does not expire for another 2 months! What caused this and is it still okay to eat??

The shelf life on a harder cheese, such as many kind of cheddar (you didn't say which) is really high.  So if there is 2 months left, it could have been in the warehouse or shelf for a long time.  

You made the right choice about the mold.  Pick it off, the cheese is fine.
