Question:

Mold on different types of breads?

I did an experiment on how mold grows on different types of bread. (Whole wheat, and white). I put one piece of each type of bread in a plastic bag with a little water. No mold has grown on any piece of bread after 11 days except the whole wheat bread in the plastic bag. Why is this?

  1. For anything to mould it must be damp and placed in a cool place. Also the temperature must be moderate

    Good luck

  2. Unless the bread contains preservatives, mold will grow on the bread, no matter what kind it is. There are fungal spores in the air. Since you put the pieces of bread in a plastic bag, spores will not settle on the bread pieces during the experiment. The piece of whole wheat bread probably had the spore on it before it was put into the bag.
