Question:

Mold on the inside of outdoor playhouse?

I received a hand-me-down Little Tikes plastic outdoor playhouse. There's quite a bit of mold within the plastic walls which I cannot get to. I don't smell any odor. Should I be concerned about my child playing in this even if he can't touch the mold? Would it help to drill air vents into the playhouse? Or, should I just get rid of the thing altogether? I imagine this is a common occurence when these types of outdoor toys are left out in the rain.

  1. Mix a 10% bleach and 90% water solution in a garden sprayer (the pump up kind) and spray the mold.  Let it dry and it will be gone.

  2. its toxic mold, just get rid of it. bleach does not kill the toxins

  3. buy yourself a product called "JOMAX" made by zinzeer, you will be amazed with this product i guarantee. Cost about $6 a ready mixed quart spray bottle or you can buy it in concentrate form for big jobs like the whole exterior of your house, it's a mildew-house cleaner and is safe to use around plants and dissipates after 3hrs,meaning it disappears good luck Les the painter

  4. It should be fine. As long as it stays outside it will not breed into your home. Putting holes in it will not help any either. Placing it in the sunshine will help to inhibit the growth inside the walls too. It is a very common occurence at the plastic outside products have little tab holes in them that allow water to seep in. No worries
