Moldy bread LSD?

Question

So in Bio i learned that LSD comes from ergot, a fungi that affects a lot of plants, but particularly grains. So if i had some rotting grain, or even moldy bread for that matter, is there the pottential to start trippin out. It would probably need to be really moldy, but that would suck eating a bad sandwhich and suddenly, "OH MY GOD MAN! THIS TURKEY IS COMIN AFTER ME!" j/k

there have been speculation that the werewolf myth stemmed from such a fungus that attacks bread. Since there weren't a lot of preservation methods back then, it was common for bread to be a bit moldy when eaten. and the "hallucinations" that followed after made some people think they saw werewolves or made some think they were.

I'm not too sure which type of fungus it is or if other fungi will have the same effect. But I'm sure when you eat moldy bread you will have a trip. now whether it's an acid trip or a trip to the comfort room or ER, I can't tell you.

LSD is a product of the ergot fungus that mostly

affects the grain rye.

Not all bread mold is ergot.

Most is penicilium from which the anti-biotic is extracted.

Don't even think about messing with ergot.

It's VERY toxic. - During the middle ages,

the stuff wiped out whole towns.

First of all it would have to be rye bread.  Ergot only forms on rye.  Do you really want to ingest some moldy bread in hopes of getting off on it?

I am sure you could score some acid from a friend and get a better chance of a buzz and less chance of getting something poisonous by mistake.

LSD has one endearing effect you may not be aware of.

It does not always let you come back from your trip.  Think about what you are going to do out there for the rest of your life.  I have had many trips and the only thing I left out there were brain cells, but I know several people that went out and have never come back and I quit in 1980. no j/k

It works more when it attacks the grain before it is made into bread, not after
