Question:

Molecular Biology Graduate School options

After I graduate I will only have a B.S in Molecular Biology, work will be limited and I will only make $13/ hr if I'm lucky. I make more than that now. If I decide to get my masters, do I have to continue with molecular biology? What kind of options do I have? I am interested in making good money without a lot of math. Is it possible to get into some sort of medical technician type of field from where I am currently at?

  1. Dear Adam,

I completely agree with Kristen. You will not require a Molecular Degree in your MS for a prospective fat pay cheque. You can go with one/two year numerous diploma or certification programs in field of Medicine for a handsome salary. All you need is passion for serving the patients. The fee structure for the program may also be higher, it also depends on the type of school you would like to attend.

  2. You can make much more money then that in a medical business.

You do not have to do a masters in molecular.  You can do your masters in anything.

If you want to be a medical tech, you should have gone to medical tech school instead of doing an undergraduate program.  The things with medical techs though is that they never increase in salary.

With a bachelors degree and working in a business, your salary can always increase.
