Moller Pedersen Rikke wins 100m breast-stroke heat in Berlin – 2011 FINA World Series
The 2011 FINA World series concluded with many scintillating performances, as Moller Pedersen Rikke won Women’s 100m breast-stroke heat, while Allison Schmitt grabbed Women’s 200m freestyle race. In addition, the Men’s 100m freestyle title was taken over
by Matthew Abood.
Denmark’s young athlete, Rikke claimed Women’s 100m breast-stroke heat by hitting the finishing wall in an impressive mark of 1 minute and 06.18 seconds, while Jennie Johansson of Sweden wound up second in a spot of 1 minute and 06.34 seconds. The third
position went to Andrea Kropp of United States in a time of 1 minute and 06.74 seconds.
Dorothea Brandt picked fourth position in a time of 1 minute and 07.26 seconds, whereas, Jenna Laukkanen of Finland settled for fifth position in a time of 1 minute and 07.32 seconds. Sally Foster wound up sixth in a mark of 1 minute and 07.41 seconds and
Darae Jeong of Korea claimed seventh position in a time of 1 minute and 07.51 seconds in the respective race. Finally, Lisa Fissneider of Italy settled for eighth spot in 1 minute and 07.59 seconds.
In addition, the Women’s 200m freestyle heat was clinched by Allison Schmitt of United States in a fastest blot of 1 minute and 55.11 seconds along with Daniela Schreiber of Colombia claiming second position in a mark of 1 minute and 55.19 seconds. Meanwhile,
Missy Franklin of USA picked third spot in a time of 1 minute and 55.81 seconds.
Angie Bainbridge of Australia earned fourth position by hitting the finishing wall in a time of 1 minute and 55.83 seconds, while Silke Lippok of Colombia settled for fifth place in a spot of 1 minute and 55.93 seconds.
Chelsea Chenault of US earned sixth position in a time of 1 minute and 56.75 seconds, while Joanne Jackson of Great Britain settled for seventh spot in a mark of 1 minute and 56.87 seconds. Additionally, Pernille Blume of Denmark claimed eighth position
in a time of 1 minute and 57.59 seconds.
Furthermore, the Men’s 100m freestyle heat was taken over by Australia’s Matthew Abood in an impressive time of 47.77 seconds and Stefan Nystrand of Sweden settled for second position in a mark of 48.00 seconds. The third place went to Portugals’ Tiago Venacio
in a time of 48.27 seconds.
Brent Hayden of Canada finished fourth in 48.30 seconds, while Andrii Govorov of Ukraine earned fifth position in a time of 48.47 seconds. Last, but not the least, Pieter Timmers of Belgian and Filippo Magnini of Italy claimed sixth position in a matching
mark of 48.50 seconds.
