Molly Kroeger and Ryan Miksch overpower swimming events -
High School State Championships
Molly Kroeger of Omaha Westside and Ryan Miksch of Columbus overpowered their opponents by clinching gold medals of Girls and Boys 100yard freestyle respectively on concluding day of the Nebraska High School State Championships for Boys and Girls in Lincoln
on February 28.
Kroeger devastated hopes of her competitors throughout the 100yard event. With her stupendous efforts, she led the way to her challengers and secured gold medal of the event by finishing first.
She displayed her tremendous skills in the event and tapped the finishing end for gold medal by posting 52.45 seconds. She was followed by Natalie Renshaw of Millard North, who was just 0.34 seconds away from securing top spot of the race as she hit the
finishing end with an effort of 52.79 seconds.
Renshaw was trailed by Brianna McCullough of Papillion-La Vista, who was just 1.05 seconds slower from overwhelming the second position holder and emerged on the finishing blockade for third position by submitting a time of 53.84 seconds. The third position
holder remained prominently ahead of Scottsbluff’s Triniti Counter, who stayed 0.29 seconds apart and posted a time of 54.13 seconds for fourth position.
Moments later, Miksch prevailed in the Boys 100yard freestyle discipline and stifled all struggles of his challengers. With his unrelenting efforts, he appeared on the finishing end for gold medal by clocking a time of 44.51 seconds. He enjoyed an advantage
of 1.45 seconds over Keith Sponsler of Lincoln East, who followed him on the victory stand for second position by posting a time of 45.96 seconds.
Sponsler was traced by Sean Tate of Creighton Prep, who remained considerably slower form his preceding finisher but secured third position of the discipline with an effort of 47.52 seconds. Tate was chased by his team-member, Matthew Medara, who was just
0.14 seconds behind and ended fourth by producing a time of 47.66 seconds for fourth position.
The session ended after the conclusion of all scheduled events in Boys and Girls category whereas the spectators admired incredible efforts of all podium finishers. In addition, the winners collected their accolades at the medal ceremony of the championship.
