Me and my friend are going together on a party for our graduating kindergartners! We are trying to come up with some food ideas to have at the party, the main course being grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and sides of potato salad and of course cake! Going to have punch for the drink, wondering of some more good ideas for hors d'ouvres...like deviled eggs or something like that...any good ideas? and recipes would be AWESOME :-))) Thanx soooooo much!!!

  1. In school the kids are only allowed oatmeal cookies and fruit or veggies for a party.

I suppose carrots sticks with ranch dressings is a fav among the kindergarden set.  The simplier the better.

  2. Cup cakes with marshmallow cereal on top ( like the marshmallows from lucky charms...)

    French toast bites

Chex party mix (you can even mix an match flavors)

    Cookies in fun/funny shapes

Celery sticks (cut short) with peanut butter and rasins (also called ants on a log)

With punch, try adding stuff to it like some sprite or fruit. Maybe some evaporated milk, clear soda like squirt or fresca mixed with some melon juice and some lil jellies ( can make a think pan of jello and dice small). Taste very good.

Are you going to have games ? Pin the flag on the school is a good one. If you can get a decent size pic of their school and have them try to place the flag on top of the pole.

Good luck and have lots of fun with it !

** Trader Joe's has these very good white cheddar puffs that aren't too bad when ya read the nutritional facts. Cleaner that cheetos.

  3. This was always a hit when my kids were little - they loved it and their firends loved it.

    FINGER JELLO

    3 pkg. any flavor Jello

    4 pkg. Knox gelatin (unflavored)

    4 c. boiling water

Mix all ingredients together. Put into 9 x 13 inch baking dish and refrigerate. Cut into fun shapes with cookie cutters. Pick them up with your fingers, they feel like rubber and they taste so good!

  4. pizza!!!!!!!!

  5. To them, cheetos would be the bomb.

  6. I cut little cubes of cheese and stick a tiny pretzel stick into the top of each one (for my grandkids) ...  They also LOVE raw broccoli, carrots & cherry tomatoes to dip in Ranch dressing ... and, of course, different colors of Jello Jigglers.   If it were possible, oven-fried French fries (or Tater Tots) would probably be a bigger hit with them than the potato salad:)......  Get one of the "cupcake cakes", which are individual cupcakes, pushed together and frosted as one cake on top.  Then you just pull it apart to serve it - much neater for them:)  Kroger's makes them (or whatever grocery you use) and they have all sorts of designs.....
