Mom (fixer of broken things)

Question

Sony KP-53V15 Sound comes on picture is delayed (no distortion). Worse when colder so opened up the set warmed circuit board with hairdryer and it picture appears with much less delay. Have inspected the two fuses and soddering for any defects (Used 3x mag lens). Nothing I could see. Any suggestions other than buy a new tv. My service guys says its not worth him coming out because no replacement parts are available on the model. (Manufactured Nov 1993) Thanks,Ann S. [e-mail]
