Mom pushing you to do something you hate?

how do you do that? i dont know what to do, my mom is pushing me to go to college for something i dont like to do, i used to like it but now i have a different dream, and i dont even like the thing that she wants me to do, and if i do this then it will push my dream farther away, and we dont even know how to finance me doing this, but she really wants it so she said she will make it work, i dont know what to do, i dont want to do this, but i cant tell her no... i would almost rather just waist my time and money to do this thing just to get her off my back, and i will have to pay for it... i dont know what to do... she wants me to do this... but i have a different dream... ???

well. i think that you are old enough to make your own decisions about college... even if you don't want to hurt your moms feelings, sometimes you need to put your foot down and do what you want to do... you can't let her make these kind of decisions for the rest of your life.  if you want to live your dream don't let anyone stop you because you will regret it.. would you want her to take over your dream??? i sure as heck wouldn't. try talking to her and telling her that you are old enough to decide these kind of things

No, you should do what you want to do in your life. My parents also wants me as a doctor but I hate this subject. I told them about it clearly and they agreed. What do you want to be? I want to be an engineer.

If you're in highschool, I could totally understand the difficulty you'll face in pursuing your dreams because you are still staying with your mum and you'll to face her wrath daily. BUT YOU'RE GOING TO COLLEGE! Away from your mum- what can she do to you? If you're not comfortable of openly rebeling against your mum, just lie to her that you're going to that college and go to your dream college instead. You just have to keep it under wraps until you begin your dream courses. By then, you can't apply to another college and your mum does not have the rights to pull you out of school since it's COLLEGE!

same here only theyre making me go to highschool...IN 50 MINUTES!!!

lol...im just gona bite the bullet but colledge is 300% optional...

try showing her you can make money without going to college!
