My hair is brown. a light brown color actually..but not too light that its dirty blonde. i want to die it reddish brown like Ashlee Simpson's hair..but my mom won't let me die my hair. She says that its ruining your hair and she doesn't get that you wont have a big streak in your hair once it starts growing out. she is like " you just have to keep dying it an you ruin your hair" but you can die it back to really close to your natural color so noone notices when it grows out. I really want to die my hair and my mom just doesn't understand! PLEASE HELP ME.

  1. shes right i was 13 when i died my hair an dive regretted it ever since.

stick to streaks or something its way better and you dot ave to re-do it.

my hair is breaking and it dry because of dying it if i died my hair its naturla colour it would all snap off its that bad from dying

  2. Tell your mom that a lot of hair dyes don't actually damage your hair if you don't have to bleach it first, and with what you're describing your hair color as I don't think you'll have to bleach it at all.

In fact some hair colors make your hair HEALTHIER, so the more you dye it with that type of dye the softer and healthier your hair will become.

Also try telling her that it'll make you happier and give you that little boost of confidence that everyone likes to have, especially around back to school time.

When I first asked my mom if I could go from my natural black to extremely bright, burn your eyes pink (talk about drastic!) my mom even helped me dye it because she knew how much I wanted it and that it would make me feel better about myself and make me happier. :D Plus she knew that the hair dye I was using after the damaging bleach would help put my hair back to normal after I'd used it a couple of times, and we're talking two bleachings just to get it light enough here... with you.. you'll just be putting a different color on top of your hair most likely...

And instead of dying it back to your natural color when you get too many roots showing they have a thing called a color stripper that doesn't damage your hair AT ALL and only strips out the dye that you put in there (I.E. the Ashley Simpson red.)

I really hope you can convince her. :D

  3. It's not hot and it makes you seem really superficial.  You should be glad your mom is trying to keep your from growing up to be a materialistic snob.

  4. alright, im 14 and have died my hair 3 times, but now i just get red highlights, because if u do play around with ur hair too much it will damage it. listen to ur mom, try telling her that u will pay for it, try to persuade her
