Mom wont let me redecorate my room..?

So, my whole house got redone, except for my room. My mom and I switched bedrooms a few years ago, and in her old room (and my curent one), my dad took a week to put up wood to give it a cabin-ey look, but I HATE it. There is also a burgundy trim around the windows and door frame, and thats just as bad since I like colours. Recently, everyone got their own room redecorated in my family except me! Totally unfair. I asked my mom why I cant do mine and she said "because your dad spent $1000 and a week off to put up that wood.". Any tips that I can use to redecorate my room, without taking the wood down?

Maybe say to them that that is YOUR room now and you a big kid now I have a problem like that too my mom won't let me take my hannah montana poster off my wall in my room and now I hate her....
