haha, i'm Fourteen. mmm i've got sooo many goals like learning j*p online, origami online, improving my vocab, learning karate, Running fast - by myself to become an athelete (at least a fast runner). Then...yup AAAAA* for my studies, making parents happy, being a happy, crazy freak and well, coming back into reality instead of living in my imaginary world....BUT...I lack discipline...How do u train discipline in ur kids? My parents have um...placed higher value on morals for me and don't beat me at all as in my mom scolds yup, nags but that's all folks! sooo...i want to do all of this by myself (independent girl!) w/o causing trouble for anyone or getting any help because someday i'm gonna have to do this all by myself...so any way to DRILL discipline into lazy me?

  1. Having goals especially at your age is great.  It's equally if not more important to actually work at those goals rather than give up when you get stuck or bored.   Be careful not to set your goals too high, or you will get frustrated when you're not able to attain those goals.  A little bit at a time, and then build on your successes.

Reading your question, you seem like an ultra type A personality.  Perhaps you've gotten that from your parents or maybe since you're so goal oriented, you've become that on your own.   Sometimes, we all need to slow down a little and enjoy the simple things in life.

At your age (14), I would give you more responsibilities around the house.  Cleaning/straightening your own bedroom. sorting through your dirty clothes, helping with dishes, etc.

But you sound like a really cool kid, one that I would be proud of to have as my daughter.

Just a thought- do you think that you may have ADHD?

  3. First off you need to decide which things mean the most to you, cause it sounds like you have a lot going on-you may wear yourself out!Next make time every day to do those things and do them, don't make excuses-just do them.A schedule always helps.GOD-bless

  4. Staying on top your kids every move.

  5. You have to set goals for yourself.  Set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly ones so that you can prove improvements in yourself.
