My family and are from the west coast but have been living in North Carolina for the past year, we would like to move back to the west coast and were thinking about Portland, Oregon. Is it a good place to raise a family?? Is there alot to do for family's?? Is the weather too cold for outdoor play year round?? Overall would you recommend this place to live for a growing family. We have two boys a 2yr old and a 5month old:) Thank you for all your help

  1. i'm not a mom, in fact i'm a kid, but i live about 30 min. away from portland, it gets really cold, and it depends what neighborhood you decide to live in some are not good for families and some are very excellent. the public schools aren't very good either.

  2. I grew up in oregon and I love it. When I am done delivering i hope to go back and live in Portland... I love the parks, the greenery and how relaxed and friendly people are... be careful when you chose neighberhoods, there is however a lot of parks and kids events. It is in general a family friendly place... Ahh Miss it a lot and cant wait till I move back! However, you will just have to be prepared for the rain. It is very clean, oregonians are very keen on a clean enivronment though- so they go the extra mile to ensure this...

  3. i have cousins who live in portland, originally from central CA, where we live, but they love it and wouldn't move for the world..

it's too rainy for me though :-)
