Question:

Moms, Why Do You Let Your Little Girls Dress Like Hussies?

I see it more and more and I can't understand why.

I'm only 23, I'm not married and I don't have Kids.

Yet I find myself constantly asking, Why do parents allow their young girls, (12 and under) to dress in halter tops, or things like TNA or Juicy clothing with cheeky phrases, or big hoop earrings, stuff you expect to see, at least a guy my age, expects to see on a fully developed girl 18 and up.

Last summer I worked in retail and a dad and his young daughter (8 years old tops) walked in and she was wearing a spaghetti strap shirt with short shorts that said 'Juicy Land' across the @$$. And I looked at the other guy and we were just like "WTF?"

I remember when my sister was that age she was wearing things with Minnie Mouse or My Little Pony's on them.

So I beg of you, mothers or fathers who allow their kids to dress like they're heading to a cheap bar to find a guy, though they're still too young for a bra, WHY do you allow this?

  1. I agree.

  2. The sad thing is, if you see a little girl dressing like that, chances are her mom does too.  That's where they get it.

  3. I don't have an answer, but I do have a problems with my x-daughter-in-law dressing my 7 year old granddaughter like a tramp.  Last month she even dyed her hair!!!  She bought her a pair of platform shoes which in combination with the streaked hair make her look like a mini prostitute. Unfortunately, my granddaughter thinks she looks hot.

I think it is dangerous.  But, nobody listens to me.

  4. I wonder the same thing. My daughter is 9 and I will never allow her out of the house in clothes like I see young kids wearing these days. Its just not right. Its like the parents are saying here take my daughter and do what you will with her. Last school year there was this girl that caught the same bus as my daughter and I know she could not of been but maybe in the 5th grade there she was every morning wearing tight pants and very low cut shirts and had lots of makeup on. I am sorry parents that let your kids dress like that but they look like s***s. There are alot of people out there who like to hurt kids and if they see ones dressed like that then those are the ones they go for more.

  5. and.... people wonder why the pregnancy and STD rate has gone up in teens. I agree with you 100% I can't even think of why we have to stop at 12. I think under the age of 15-16 years of age, why would anyone encourage clothes like this. The top doesn't sound bad, but " Juicy Land" on their butt is unacceptable to me. I don't get it either, it's not cute or classy, it is just down right trashy.

  6. I don't.  Which is why in 7 years my daughter will be on here whining about how I don't let her do what she wants like all the other 13-16 babies on here.

Want a scarrier thought?  Why are grown men and women making such clothing in sizes that fit 8 year olds?

  7. Look, I'm 16 and I know a lot of girls like this. And the sad fact of the matter is, many of their parents simply do not care.

Personally I'm not a fan of skimpy styles. I detest the Bratz dolls and how they teach six year olds to wear heavy makeup and short skirts. Sometimes it's not just the parents, but the media influence. Look around you, there are "hussy"-looking dolls in Toys-R-Us. But there's really nothing you can do about it, besides standing there disapproving.

There are some teens I know who dress like this because, well, their friends and groupies dress like it. What teen doesn't want to fit in and feel comfortable in their social circle? Some of them have disapproving parents who don't take much action. A lot of them have parents who, like I said, just don't care, whether because they do it too or work too much or something. Try not to judge too disapprovingly on it. This is 2008, my dear, and fashion and society is changing, faster than the trend of Bratz from Barbies.

  8. omg i know what you mean... but its not our problem to worry about it

  9. I am glad to see that someone is addressing this issue.  I too see a great deal of little girls dressing trashy.  My daughter is not allowed to wear shorts or sweats with anything written on the butt....her a$$ is not a billboard.  regarding her tops, she is very conservative, and does from time to time wear a halter used in layering, and she is allowed to wear them around the house, but not when we go out.

I think parents are forsaking their children by allowing them to dress too mature at such young ages.

thank you again for bringing this issue to light....maybe some parents will read this and see that they need to be more of a parent rather than a friend, they have those in school, but they needs parents to keep them straight.
