I'm just wondering how soon you all took your new borns out?

How soon was it when you traveled with them?

My husband is supposed to be in a wedding about a month after I'm due and It's about a 6 hour trip to get there. What are your thoughts? Should I stay home with baby or attempt to venture out?

  1. I say go for it girl!!  I went on a 4-5 hour car ride when my daughter was a month old.  Just keep in mind that he might be a little more tired when you get there, so make sure you allow time for him to sleep, eat and get himself "situated" before doing anything when you get there.  I was going out on little outings to the grocery store the minute i was mobile enough to go to the store (had a c-section, recovery took a little while).  Have fun at your wedding, just make sure you try not to stay out for VERY extended periods of time with the little one as he'll probably get fussy and tired.

  2. I took him to visit friends an relatives when he was 5 days old, the day after i got out of the hospital.  As long as you arent in a bad environment little babies will be fine, just avoid the dirty walmart croud that wants to zoom in an touch the baby.. as if thats ok at any age lol!  An babies travel well when they are that young, the baby will probably sleep most of it.

  3. We went out in public when she was only a few days old. I just made sure no one got near her or touched her.

We haven't traveled yet. We'll be flying when she's about 4 months old. I would ask the doc what they think. Just remember that the baby will probably want to eat about every 2 hours so you'll need to make a few stops on the road trip. I would have definitely gone when my daughter was that age.

  4. of course u can go out, its the best time to they sleep so much and so well, i went out to a dinner 2 weeks after she was born, and we were invited to a wedding the week before but we didnt end up going because i was sick, but we were going to go

  5. after the frist 24 hours we traveled back home with it and its been at my place ever since......

  6. when my youngest was the same age i took him on a 10 hour interstate trip and he was fine.

just remember to time your trip for when bubs sleeps best and to stop every 2 hours and take bubs out of the car for some fresh air and so forth.

remember to plan feed breaks and stops into your trip timeline.

    good luck

  7. 2 months isn't bad ..but you should ask the baby's dr when it's born.. I took mine at 3 weeks but it was only to the mall

  8. I had my son on December 3rd of 2005...and made a 6 hour trip with him before Christmas that same month. However this would depend on the overall health of your baby. Assuming all is well...which I'm sure it will be...my advice is to just be sure to take a route where you'll have a lot of oppourtunities to pull into a parking lot etc. to feed/change the baby. No reason to stay home and miss out on a chance to show off your new bundle of joy! Congratulations!

  9. 1month after 2month i took him to LA but driving if u are going in airplane its not good because of so many germs when their newborn its

dangerous because they cant take no medicine
