Question:

Moms! Deciding your baby's name?

I'm having a lot of trouble picking my baby's name. This is my first child. Its just me and my mom. But anyway I have heard about every name there is! And I think a lot of the names are pretty and cute. But just not right for my baby. My mom really wants to name my baby Gracie if its a girl. I really like that name, but again, I just don't think its right!

Did anyone else have this problem? My mom said as soon as she found out about me she picked my name. I'm due in October. And since I don't have anything better to do, I am constantly trying to find the right name. I won't find out the s*x until the baby is born.

Anyone else have this problem?

  1. make a list for boy and girl names that you love and take them with you to the hospital....once the baby is born you can just tell which name best fits them....

p.s. it's your baby...not your mom's...while it's sweet to have her input even if you named your baby buford she's not gonna love it any less...name your baby what you feel is appropriate and what you love because you'll have to deal with it a lot more often than her....

i wish you the best of luck with your baby....and as soon as you see your baby you'll know which name will fit it best....

  2. I would make a list of names you really love then think of middle names to go with them.It is your baby so it should be your choice of name for the baby.I have four children the oldest is 15 and surprise #5 due in Dec.My hubby and I took two names with us to the hospital and when the baby was born we decided which name suited him or her the best.

When you see a name you like say it aloud and see how it sounds.I was doing this the other day and my 6 year son asked who is Sean,Alan,Avery and Arwen.

Congrats and Good luck to you!

  3. Yes, thats a common problem. I'm going through the same exact thing right now. I wrote down all the names I like. First and middle and Im going to wait til I give birth, I hear this alot that when you first look into your babys eyes you will know what to name him/her so hopefully that will work.

  4. I haven't had it yet, but judging by all the other people who post questions here, you're not alone in your dilemma. Oh -- and in case you're interested, my favorite girl's names are Eda, Iris, Rebecca, and Jo. My favorite boy's names are Bobby, William, Frank, Floyd, and Roman. But I really think it's your prerogative to name your baby whatever you want.
