Moms.... Have any of you delivered before 35 weeks?

Question

As I posted in another question I am having my third c section done in a few weeks due to infections that keep coming and going. I am 31 weeks now and the doctors are talking about doing it around 34 weeks. Hopefully I wont go into labor before the. : /

Im soo nervous but then yet excited too. From all the infections im having im not sure what is worse for my daughter. staying in or coming out....

What was the reason you went early? And was there any health complications withyou baby? How long did your baby have to stay in the NICU??

I had my first son by emergency C-section at 33 weeks.  This was a result of having labor continually being shut down for the entire month prior.  My son was in NICU for 8 days due to hyelin membrane disease (under developed lungs) and for jaundice.  He is now 25 years old and has a minor learning disability.

My second son was born by C-section at 34 weeks due to once again having early labor and being shut down for the entire month prior.  My second son was in NICU for 2 weeks on a respirator for once again, hyelin membrance disease.  He is now 20 years old and also has a slight learning disability that he has learned to overcome.

Both of my sons would have been over 10 lbs if they had gone full term. My body just wouldn't accomodate large babies.

Good luck, stay positive and know that the advances in treatment for premature babies are remarkable.  You and your baby should be just fine.

With my first born i went at around 37 weeks.  But with my second born i think it was due to having pregnancies so close together.  I had my daughter Nov 4th 2003 and became pregnant again Feb 25th 2004.  Had my son at 33 and a half weeks on Oct 27th 2004.  I went into labor so fast they could not stop me.  I did not have any problems at first.  He was 7lbs 3 oz.  He was healthy as an ox.  Later tho because my doctor failed to get my group b strep test back in time i was not treated with antibiotics.  And found out i was a carrier.  Anyways when my son was 3 weeks old he was very ill with meningitis.  He was hospitalized for a month and a half.  This was not do to premature labor tho.  It was due to an irresponsible doctor who should have given me the antibiotics anyways.  My son is now 3 and a half and very healthy and happy.  Anyways good luck to you...  I hope everything goes well for you!

37 weeks.Water broke.......my son has ADD along with other learning disabilities..........but that does not mean that your child will.If you are having multiple infections listen to your Dr's-or research on the web,and all the best to you and yours ☺
