I am breastfeeding only. I know this is not birth control that is why my husband and I only pull out as a form of birth control.

I thought I was going to start my period because I wiped and it has a smear of pinkish blood I think was the color I could be wrong.

So I put a tampon in like normal and you know that feeling you get like you have to change your tampon well I never got it so the next morning I pulled it out and just the tip was bloody. Just the very tip.

Same yesterday morning and same this morning!

WHy is it doing that is my period coming or what?

COuld I be pregnant.

  1. You could be pregnant since you are not using birth control (pulling out is not an effective form of birth control at all).  It could also be your body getting back on cycle but you need to take a pregnancy test to know for sure.  By the way Tracy B is absolutely WRONG that you do not ovulate when breastfeeding; it can start at any time so you could have ovulated without realizing it and got pregnant even before you started your period again.

  2. Hello. If you are fully breastfeeding, this usually stops ovulation. In other cultures where there is no use of contraception this is used .Most mothers fully breastfeed until their child is 2 years and do not get pregnant until they stop. You could start using a natural method of contraception, which requires co-operation on both sides, but you need to be having normal menstrual periods to use this method. It does sound as if it could just be a light period as you are breastfeeding. If you are worried wait 7 days and take a test.

  3. Im breastfeeding and seem to get spotting instead of a period...Hope Im not pregnant!!! Will watch this question...my babies 4 months old...

  4. Yeah you could be pregnant if you're only using the "pull out" method.  That's a sure fire way to get pregnant.  Pre-ejaculate carries a much higher concentration of sperm than s***n so if one drop of pre-ejaculate enters your v****a you have a very good chance of becoming pregnant.  Why was no condom used?

  5. Hm. Well of course you could be! there is pre-*** so pull out is not fool proof, and if you missed your period then you should be worried. But while you are breastfeeding, your periods may be irregular. You should wait till you are suppose to get your period, a few weeks later and take a test.

FYI-you are not suppose to leave tampons in longer than 6 hours. normally change them every 4.

  6. I had the same kind of bleeding at around 4-5 months with my son. It happened twice... I would bleed JUST a little and that was it. I'm definitely not pregnant though!

  7. You could be pregnant.  Take a home test to find out  :)

  8. You could be pregnant. You could just be spotting a little. Maybe from s*x... good luck!
