I have a 13 month old baby girl. I just gave her a bath and got her into PJs and noticed her feet are peeling. This morning I noticed that they were peeling a little but now it looks like it is more. Doesn't seem to bother her.

What should I put on them?

Any good home remedies?

  1. It's probably from her feet sweating and being moist-exposing them to air would help. However, it could be a sign of Coxsacki virus-a form of strep otherwise known as hand, foot and mouth disease. Check the palm of her hands and the inside of her mouth for peeling or blisters and if you find them call the doctor.

  2. My now 5 yr old daughter has had this for a couple of years.  I have found that it's because she constantly had footie PJ's or socks on (she is at an age now that she always wants socks on).  We have kept her from having socks on at nighttime, especially after baths and it has helped TREMENDOUSLY.  We make sure we dry her feet really well after bathtime each time and we don't usually use any additional moisturizer because her feet being too "soft" (wet or lotion, or sweaty) has been the cause of her feet peeling!  Good luck!

  3. I think it is probably nothing...but...my son had peeling on his hands and feet.  I freaked out and took him to the doctor.  Apparently this CAN  be a symptom of an underlying strep infection.  My son had to be put on antibiotics for three weeks.  The peeling subsided and has had no problems since.  Like I said-it's probably not, but as an overly cautious parent I would have it checked out.  Good luck!

  4. Actually yes, It freaked me out a bit when I first saw it...I just kept her feet moistourized and it eventually went away. I'm not sure why it happens but I think it's because they start walking more and puts more strain on their feet?
