Moms living apart from husbands, fiance's, boyfriends, how do you do it?

One of my best friends is having a difficult time she lives in one country with her children and her fiance works in another country. Some days are better than others for her, but she's pretty sad right now. I don't live close to her where I could visit easily. How do you moms stay positive when you man is out of the country?

My husband is currently deployed.  Like your friend, I have good days and bad days.  Luckily, taking care of our three rambunctious toddlers keeps me pretty busy.  We email as much as we can so that we can stay connected and so that the kids have a chance to let Daddy know that they miss him.  Chatting online with a webcam has been priceless.  Other than that, we rely on the fact that this isn't forever and we'll be together again soon.  The most important thing is to take it day by day.  Don't think about how long you'll be apart, but concentrate on the fact that you've made it through today.  Even if it was a difficult day, tomorrow is a whole new start and you can try again.  lol
