I really like to babysit, and I need the money, but I just moved into the neighborhood and I dont know anyone. If I put up a sign giving information and so on, would you hire me?

Try also, to tell your family to tell others that you are ready to babyset.

I wouldn't trust my child with a stranger even if I knew someone who knew you. I'd have to get to know you for myself first.

Maybe you can advertise to be a mother's helper and watch the kids while the mom is busy doing things around the house. You may even have to offer to do that for free for a while until they get to know you and what kind of person you are.

no i would only hire a trained babysitter. its 2008 cant trust anyone anymore....

I would take the babysitting course offered through the Red Cross, so you can have credentials. Also, provide good references.

Maybe dont put up a sign but print off a few flyers and put them in the letter boxes of families you know have kids.

Include information like how old you are, what experience you have, how much you charge, your hours and your address and telephone number and your parents names.

They may not hire you straight away or even at all BUT it gets your name out there so they might see you around and slowly get more comfortable with you.

I want to know that you've taken a babysitter's course, and that you are certified in first aid and cpr.

Personally I would want someone who has children to babysit my children, they are experienced. Your very young and don't know what to do in case of an emergency. Try another line of work until you build some creditability and age for now

go for it.my niece babysits my kids fo rthe same pay rate,she is also 13.my girls are 8 and 9 so i don't need a trained sitter(and pay out the butt).some moms would find you to be a blessing with what some people are charging.i babysat at your age,you'll find someone to hire you.

I got my babysitting jobs by people coming to me,my sister had friends all around the neighborhood,and i would do the girls hair ect.but first i would talk to their parents to get permission first.After a few weeks the parents would see how I was with them,and they would come to me asking me to babysit.

How old are you for starters? How much do you charge? I'd be wanting to know who you are, what you are, what your interests are and would need to speak to references from people that you've babysat for (and depending on age) speak to your parents. Then maybe yes.

And i'd probably want to see you spend time with the kids... and especially if you are taking care of babies, id like to see how you feed, change the baby etc.
