  1. Good luck  My son as im sure all do went through the dont want nothing stage. I did how ever find most of the time he would take a bowl or a bag full of cereal and eat it when he wanted. I got him a special plate and bowl to it helped some. But remember when they get hungary they will eat. Just dont try to force them cause its amazing how bullheaded they can get. Make it as fun as possible. try a picnic on the kithen floor or something like that. Good luck to ya

  2. My daughter's 18 months

Breakfast- 1 1/2 chocolate chip waffles, 1 small buttermilk busquit with a sausage patty, 8 oz. milk

Snack- fruit snacks, yogurt bites(graduates), some sort of cracker, 8 oz juice

Lunch- a lunchables jr(these are great for toddlers, although I haven't had the gumption to try the one with apple dip in it, lol), most times she won't eat the meat though, 8 oz milk

Snack- crackers, chips, fruit bar, cheese sticks, soft pretzels (if she's even hungry, she doesn't usually even eat 3 meals and 2 snacks, it's usually one 2 meals and one snack)

Dinner- what we eat or chicken tenders and french fries, she won't eat tenders unless they're deep fried though, so she doesn't get them a lot,lol- she loves pasta and red sauce, pasta of any kind, french fries, and we usually hide a bite of meat behind the pasta on the fork, and she'll eat it if she doesn't see it, lol. Also she loves quesadillas with cheese and pepperoni or sometimes small amounts of taco meat. But she won't eat anything she hasn't seen mom or dad eat first.

Snack/dessert- 8 oz. of milk, we haven't been feeding her many sweets so she doesn't crave them yet.

As to being soo picky, just make sure your toddler has food to graze on, it's true that they will eat when they're hungry. My brat goes what seems like days eating very little, then she fills the tank as full as it will go and doesn't eat again for days. She's healthy and is at 97% on both the height and weight charts for her age.

    Good luck!

  3. oh, with my current child (my youngest) it's just h**l right now:

breakfast- pretty much goes on the floor. half a waffle maybe.

    Snack-grapes, cottage cheese, popcorn

    lunch-applesauce, peaches, more grapes

snack-carrots, more cottage cheese, some crackers

    dinner- green beans, broccoli, rice

dessert- more grapes, some vanilla yogurt.

this has been going on for over 2 months. He will grow out of it. Notice no meat in there. yikes. But he is healthy and strong, and never gets sick!!

  4. Toddlers are notorious at being picky eaters.  I think the key is to offer healthy foods, including those few favorites he likes and then add new tastes in.

    Breakfast -

Yogurt cereal mix  - Plain yogurt mixed with  wheatgerm, 1/2 a mashed banana or some other fruits, 1/2 a crushed graham cracker.

Whole grain blueberry muffin (or any other type of fruit muffin I have time to make)

Oatmeal - mix quick oats with enough cold apple juice to cover, - let set for 5 minutes or so to absorb.  Add a tablespoon or so of plain yogurt and some mashed banana or other diced fruits.

    Lunch

Whole grain bread with either peanut butter or apple butter

    Whole grain toasted cheese sandwich

    Diced fruit on the side

    Dinner

Whatever we are having is usually what he gets but I sometimes make him a pasta side that is the small wagon wheels.  Make the sauce with some milk and some swiss or mozzarella cheese melted in (do in the micro if you want).  I also will then cook some spinach or broccoli or throw in a handful of frozen peas.  I add a couple spoonfuls of spaghetti sauce but that is because my son won't eat anything green.  The red sauce disguises it.   I personally like just the white sauce.

Snacks are usually fruit, graham cracker, goldfish cracker, zucchini bread, cheese crackers, dry cereal... etc.  Not too big on any juice.   Our big treat right now is jello.

    Hope that helps you.

  5. Breakfast: Any combination of the following-oatmeal with blueberries or banannas, cinnamin and sugar, strawberries.  Pancakes.  Waffles.  Toast.  Cold cereal.  Fruit.  Muffin.  Eggs and bacon.  Milk, juice.

Snack:  String cheese.  Fruit.  Crackers.  Cookie.  Yougart.  Milk, water.

Lunch:  Lunchable.  Peanut butter and jelly.  Hot dogs and applesauce.  Cottage cheese.  Baked Cheetos.  Fruit.  Veggies (cooked or raw).  Sugar Free jello or pudding.  Grilled cheese.  Lunch meat sandwich.  Milk, water, or sugar free cool aid.

Snack:  Fruit.  Peanut butter Ritz.  Dried prunes or apricots.  Gold Fish crackers.  String cheese.

Dinner:  Whatever I am fixing.  Pickled beets (my son LOVES them).  Cottage cheese.  Mac and cheese.  Applesauce.  Veggies (usually cooked, all varieties).  Milk.

If I am not fixing anything for myself for dinner, I will give him Chefborardee, tuna helper, grilled cheese, hot dogs, corn dogs, chicken fingers, pizza, mac and cheese with veggies mixed in.

I try to put some fruit or veggies with every meal.  Of course, sometimes there are popsickles, ice cream, or cake, but I really try to limit those things.  You will notice that there is not much meat.  My son won't eat meat, but I do try to offer it somehow everyday.   Being picky is normal.  Just be sure to keep offering different foods, even if they have been refused before.  Just keep offering, offering, offering.  Also, try not to make a separate meal for your little one if you are fixing dinner.  Just give him/her whatever you are having.  I try to make sure there is something on the plate I know my son will eat along with what I am having.  Be patient.  It takes up to 15 -20 times of trying certain foods before toddlers know if the really like or dislike them.

  6. breakfast - usually cereal with milk

snack - toast and a banana and milk, juice or water

lunch - sandwiches, childrens crisps, apple, cucumber, tomatoes with juice or water

snack - raisins and a biscuit

dinner - pasta bake with salad and juice

pudding - either fruit, custard or yoghurt (ice lolly in summer!)

  7. Breakfast- strawberry flavored applesauce, half a poptart, and apple juice.

Snack- about a third of an orange.

Lunch- half a sandwich (PB&J, turkey, ham, bologna etc.) and left over Mac&Cheese from last nights dinner.

Snack- other half of poptart from breakfast and a third of the orange from midmorning snack.

Dinner- as much as she wants to eat from a baked potato, baked chicken, and cucumbers with ranch.

Dessert- usually we'll spend the day making dessert. last night we made jello with pears mixed in and topped with sugar free cool whip. I try to keep it healthy.

Remember: You're child most likely only wants to eat "junk" or one certain kind of food. My daughter is obsessed with fruit snacks and some days only wants those. Just realize that your child will eat whatever you give him when he's honestly hungry. Don't give in to his cries and pleads, because you know what's best for him. Good luck.

  8. I try to feed mine healthy stuff (although I admit I occasionally give in and let them have junk).  But here are some of their favorite healthy foods:

Breakfast:  waffles or pancakes with fruit instead of syrup.  (My four year old can eat 3 or 4 of them)

    Snack:  Granola bars

Lunch:  Grilled ham and cheese on wheat bread, sliced apples

    Snack:  applesauce

Dinner:  grilled chicken strips, glazed carrots (I put a butter and brown sugar glaze on them - it's not great for their teeth, but they love them that way), bread and butter

Dessert: watermelon, strawberries, pretty much any kind of fruit, sometimes with a little whipped cream

  9. my 22 month old eats this:

Breakfast - cereal and milk, sometimes blueberries or a mini banana.  those baby bananas are awesome!

snacks could be - crackers, blueberries (she loves blueberries!), mandarin oranges, cheese, yogurt, toddler vienna sausages, a bite of whatever i'm eating

dinner, well her favorites are:  chicken and dumplings with tons of carrots, ramen type noodles with peas, spaghetti.

she loves all veggies especially brussel sprouts (weird, i know and both of my kids are addicted to them), any fruit, but she is not a big red meat eater.  nutri-grain bars are like crack for her - she LOVES those!  i haven't really had problems getting her to eat, but sometimes just to make dinner interesting i arrange the food so it looks like a face and make eating a big game.

  10. Breakfast - Oatmeal, Dry Cereal, Milk

He eats a big breakfast, so he doesn't usually want a snack before lunch.

Lunch - Chef Boyardee, Lunchable, Kid Cuisine, or sandwich, juice

Snack - Crackers & Cheese or fruit

Dinner - Mac & Cheese, Pizza, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans (pretty much whatever my husband and I eat - only he doesn't really like meat), milk

    Snack - Yogurt

My son is 20mo and he's really picky too! He loves any kind of fruit, peanut butter sandwiches, cheese, pasta, snack crackers, yogurt...

  11. My daughter is 28 months.  Here's a typical day:

breakfast:  she likes blueberry waffles, mini pancakes or cheese omelets.  With milk or OJ.

lunch: she's at the sitter's all day - so not really sure.  On the weekends, it's usually mac n cheese with crackers, applesauce or yogurt and/or cheese stick.  This is her biggest meal of the day.

dinner: not much.  She'll eat green beans all day.  Sometimes pasta, sometimes not.  If she's not eating anything on her plate, I'll give her yogurt or applesauce.

dessert - popicle, brownie or Reese's cup.

snacks (1 or 2 a day) consist of yogurt, cheese stick, or crackers with juice.

  12. Breakfast: oatmeal or whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter, fruit, milk, multivitamin

Lunch:boca nuggetts, carrots, cheese stick or grilled cheese sandwich and vegetables

snacks: apples, bananas, strawberries, oranges, peaches

cheese sticks, 100 calorie pack snacks, popcorn, sugar free jello or puddings, popcicles OR cereal

dinner: chicken, brown rice steamed veggies

  13. Breakfast: applesauce, toast, and juice

    Snack: mandarine oranges, graham crackers

Lunch: cut up chicken b*****s, pureed vegetable, grapes

    Snack: veggie crackers and juice

Dinner: pasta and sauce, juice, pureed vegetable

  14. breakfast:frozen waffles, frozen pancakes, french toast sticks, scrambled eggs, microwave sausage, toaster scrambles

lunch: chicken and fries, soup, ramen noodles, Parmesan cheese on noodles, spaghetti o's,

dinner:......anything that I fix for the family...fried chicken, mashed potatoes, baked fish, casseroles, pot pie, cheese noodles, pasta dishes, tv dinners....etc

snacks:  frozen broccoli, frozen corn, frozen cauliflower, green beans, peas (she gets to eat veggies all day long.  they are left out in little cups throughout the house)

  15. Breakfast- cheerios with milk

Snack- they have snack bars for toddlers that he eats one

Lunch- ham and cheese sandwich using sugar free wheat bread, and natural ham. Then a little fresh fruit

Snack- depends, he usually doens't eat  one though

Dinner- steamed veggies with grilled chicken and a little bit of brown/ whole grain rice.

For drinks I give him more water than anything, but I will give him milk, or diluted o.j. or apple juice

He is 15 months old and has been eating like this for a while. Try and steam the veggies so they are soft for him to chew, but not pureed.

  16. My daughter (21 mths) is also very picky and she only recently started eating meet (only ham so far) but here are some favorites she likes:

Breakfast: oatmeal with splenda & cinnamon, scrambled eggs (she only eats them if i make them in a patty so she can pick it up), eggo waffles (the eggo ones don't get too hard), bannana (sliced then quartered & rolled in crushed rice crispies so it's not too wet), nutrigrain cereal bars.

Snack: raisins, blueberry applesauce, canned pears, chedder cheese & ritz crackers, honey nut cheerios

Lunch: chicken noodle soup (broth rinsed off so she can pick up the noodles), easy mac macaroni and cheese, pb&j sandwhich, mashed potatoes, green beans

snack: gerber graduates juice bites, chedder snacks (look like cheese puffs but have vitamins), yogurt, sometimes she skips this snack altogether

Dinner: I usually pair 2: carrots, ham, green beans, almost any kind of noodle, mashed potatoes with parm cheese added, stop-top stuffing, almost any kind of bread (she loves garlic toast without the crust)

If she wants a snack before bed, I give her one of the ones I've listed that she didn't already have that day. Sorry I couldn't give you more ideas but she doesn't eat a big variety. She won't touch chicken nuggets, fries, or any meat but ham. Hope it helps though!

  17. I am not a mom, but my husband and I watch our niece 5 days a week from morning to 3 in the afternoon so I will give you her menu...

Breakfast- 1 egg with a sprinkle of cheese, about 1/2 cup of cereal and milk.

Snack-She doesn't have a morning snack usually, but she likes certain fruits and granola bars.

Lunch-Either a sandwich (she loves peanut butter and fluff) or rice and chicken or beef.

Snack- She doesn't really have a snack

    Dinner- Rice and meat

Desert-She really likes jello, and candy unfortuately which is something I try not to feed her but her parents do :-/.

  18. hot or cold cereal or 1 scrambled egg and a banana for breakfast, snack, banana or peanut butter and crackers broke into pieces of course, lunch cheese sandwich cut into little squares w/ cheese puffs, then a nap, snack after nap apple in thin slices peeled or cherrios in a bowl (dry), or goldfish crackers, for dinner spagetti and thin sliced steamed carrots ( was always a winner with mine) they got so many vegetables in the spagetti sauce, they just couldn't see them. I often made enough to have a bowl of it in the fridge, so if what i prepared for dinner wasn't wanted I could nuke some spagetti. if a snack was asked for before bed it would be cherrios or crackers again something that wouldn't provide to much energy, because you don't want an energy boost at bedtime..and I never had a problem with what to drink they always want milk or juice..but water at bedtime and just enough to wet the whistle..so there are no accidents in bed..
