My kids just make me soooooo mad when I am trying to clean or do anything really...I ask them to go watch tv while I fold clothes fast, or cook, or clean the kitchen and its like they have to be up my butt 24/7....I can never get a break....I am so stressed and I just want to scream...well actually we did scream!! lol Alladin is on and they are right here hovering me and I want to run away!!! IDK, maybe I am just cranky but do your kids ever get to you? and no my husband doesn't help..I have absolutely no one who can help me or give me a break and I have a lazy husband that all he does is go to his job...he does nothing to help with the kids and he just adds to the mess and aggrivation....so advice would help so that I am not so stressed........I've actually missed my period for 3mo, I'm assuming due to this aggrivation

  1. I think every mom probably knows what you are talking about!

I don't know what age your kids are but here are a few things that might help you deal with them when they are at your feet and you need to get something done:

    - Let them "help" you. They probably just want your attention so give them a pile of wash cloths or socks or a small dust pan and broom and ask them to help you. If they aren't old enough you can give them a bowl and spoon and have them make their own dinner by stirring in pretend ingredients or just give them some socks and a little shoe box and they can dump and sort.

    - Set a timer. Tell them that they need to do their own thing until the timer goes off and then set it for the amount of time you need to do your chores. That way they know there is only a set amount of time that you need and that they will have your attention again soon.

    - Give them lots of time during the day to run around outside right away in the morning after breakfast so they aren't so antsy the rest of the day. You might notice that going out with them helps improve your mood the rest of the day too.

    - Most importantly, take time for yourself wherever you can get it. Even if you have to take a magazine into the bathroom for some peace and quiet or if you just close your eyes for a few minutes and breath deeply during naptime or meal time (try to shut out any chaos around you) you will be more relaxed in general. Be really aware of when you start becoming agitated and take a few deep breaths and find some shred of inner peace.

    - Keep in mind that eventually they will be teenagers who will be out all night while you sit at the kitchen table all alone worrying about where they are and if they are alright. If nothing else it will give you a slightly funny but ironic perspective on life with kids.

Good luck and many peaceful thoughts to you!
