Monchengladbach Vice-President Rainer Bonhof satisfied with club’s impressive start to the season
Borussia Monchengladbach Vice-President Rainer Bonhof has expressed his satisfaction on the club’s amazing start to the season. He hailed the side’s spirit of beginning the campaign impressively after a dismal outing in the previous
season. He added that the team will have to capitalize on the good start and show consistency to end up in the top four at the end.
The Foals are currently placed fourth on the Bundesliga standings table with 23 points from the 12 games played. They have secured seven wins and have tasted defeat just three times so far. The side has turned many heads in this
campaign as not many expected them to do well after a 16th place finish last season.
Bonhof stated that the club went through some rough times in the last one year or so and are back to their best now. He insisted that the players have learned from their mistakes in the previous outing and have now become one of
the best teams in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904.
“We can still remember all too clearly the bad months we went through last season. Our prospects already looked almost hopeless, but in the end we escaped relegation by way of the play-offs. And we've been able to carry the momentum
from that over into the new season,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The chief added that it will be too early to talk about a place in Europe at the end of the season. He admitted that the start is there and now it is up to the team to keep getting the results and finish the season on a high.
“The prospects are good, but you can't compare it with the situation at Hannover or Mainz last season. As it stands, we've got 23 points and a nice cushion between ourselves and the positions where you need to start worrying,”
he concluded.
Borussia Monchengladbach will next face Thomas Schaaf’s Werder Bremen in a Bundesliga fixture. They will be looking to secure their eighth win of the season and will be looking to diminish the gap between them and leaders Bayern
Munich, who face a tough task against Borussia Dortmund.
