Monday Night RAW: John Morrison vs. Ted DiBiase; R-Truth Intervention Proves Fateful for Morrison
It was a test for ‘The Million Dollar Man’: Ted DiBiase had to fight the ‘Monday Night Delight’ John Morrison in a one on one singles wrestling match. Ted DiBiase claimed in front of the professional wrestling world that he deserved to be a part of John Cena’s team rather than John Morrison to fight against The Nexus at SummerSlam. It was time for Ted DiBiase to back his words with action in the ring. The professional wrestling world knew that a win for Ted DiBiase could mean a question mark on the wrestling abilities of John Morrison.
It was Ted DiBiase who initially entered the arena with the former Divas Champion, Maryse. Ted DiBiase was followed by John Morrison and R-Truth. Though the match was scheduled between Ted DiBiase and John Morrison, R-Truth decided to sit at the announcers’ table to make sure that Ted DiBiase does not use any unfair and illegal means to win the fight.
The match started as Maryse distracted the attention of John Morrison. This gave enough time to Ted DiBiase to attack John Morrison from behind. Ted DiBiase then went on a rampage and started delivering kicks on John Morrison’s chest and abdomen. It was a wild attack from Ted DiBiase, and even the referee intervened to stop him. Ted DiBiase then quickly went for the cover and the referee started counting to three. However, John Morrison kicked out before the final count. Ted DiBiase then trapped John Morrison in a vicious neck lock.
John Morrison then replied to the attack of Ted DiBiase by delivering a hard elbow kick to Ted’s face. Ted DiBiase was taken aback by this attack, as he did not expect John Morrison to strike back after receiving such a heavy beating from him. John Morrison then impressed the professional wrestling world with his in ring fighting ability, as he jumped in the air and delivered a hard kick to Ted DiBiase’s jaw. That kick to the jaw was followed by another powerful kick to Ted DiBiase’s head. John Morrison was clearly dominating Ted DiBiase in this part of the match. But then Maryse again came from behind and once again tried to distract John Morrison. Ted DiBiase took advantage of the situation and went for the cover over John Morrison.
Ted DiBiase was illegally using the leverage of the ring ropes as the referee was counting to three. R–Truth came from behind and pushed Ted DiBiase off the ropes. It made an interesting situation as John Morrison ran in the ring to attack Ted DiBiase. Ted DiBiase immediately moved aside and John Morrison collided with R-Truth. The collision was so hard that John Morrison fell on the ring floor. Ted DiBiase took advantage of the situation and attacked John Morrison again to go for the cover.
This time around, it was all clear and simple, as the referee counted to three with both shoulders of John Morrison touching the ring floor. Ted DiBiase immediately left the ringside with Maryse and headed out of the arena. On the other hand, John Morrison engaged in a heated argument with R-Truth. John Morrison thought that he lost the match because R-Truth involved himself in the match. R-Truth replied back and told John Morrison that he only intervened because he did not want Ted DiBiase to disregard the rules of professional wrestling.
It was a disheartening sight to watch the two arguing over the result of the match. More importantly, both of these wrestlers are part of John Cena’s team which will fight against The Nexus at SummerSlam. Perhaps Wade Barrett was right when he talked about divisions and differences in John Cena’s team. All of the wrestlers of John Cena’s team have to forget their differences if they want to have any chance to beat Nexus at SummerSlam.
