Monday Night RAW: Michael Tarver defeats Daniel Bryan with the help of interference from The Miz
The news came as a shock to The Nexus that they had to compete in a series of singles matches against members of Team WWE. Every Nexus member had to win his match, as a loss would have meant banishment from the Nexus group forever. It was decided that Michael Tarver, who fights in the wrestling ring with a boxing style, would fight the former NXT Rookie from season one, Daniel Bryan.
Daniel was instrumental in the defeat of The Nexus at SummerSlam, as he knew the strengths and weaknesses of The Nexus. Now he was ready to defeat Michael Tarver and eliminate him from The Nexus. It was absolutely necessary for Tarver to win the match if he wanted to remain as a part of The Nexus. Both wrestlers faced off against each other with egos and careers on the line.
It was Tarver who drew first blood as he cornered Daniel Bryan and delivered quick punches to his face and abdomen. The momentum of the match suddenly shifted when Daniel Bryan replied by kicking Tarver right in his face. Perhaps Bryan went for the cover at an early stage as Tarver quickly kicked out before the referee’s final count of three. The attempt for cover was instigated by an excellent drop kick by Bryan that knocked down Tarver. Daniel Bryan then climbed the top turn buckle and executed a missile drop kick right on Tarver’s face. Tarver was down and out and Daniel Bryan was on a roll. It seemed that Daniel Bryan would easily win the match and eliminate Tarver from Nexus.
Daniel is not a great striker and is more famous for his excellent grappling techniques. Daniel had made many wrestlers tap out with a variety of different submission holds. But many people thought that Daniel’s submission holds would not mean anything against the high powered strikes of Michael Tarver. Daniel Bryan proved everyone wrong as he dominated the fight from the very start with a combination of fights and submission holds. However, what he didn’t know was that it takes a lot more than some great fighting skills to win a match in the squared circle of WWE.
Just when Daniel Bryan was taking hold of the match, The Miz came running to the ring with his NXT Rookie Alex Riley in tow. The Miz has been feuding with Daniel Bryan for the past few months. Daniel Bryan was The Miz’s rookie on NXT season one and was also the wrestler who replaced him as the 7th member of the WWE team. The Miz was angry at this humiliation and wanted to teach Daniel Bryan a lesson.
Daniel got distracted on the arrival of The Miz and focused his attention on The Miz and Alex Riley. Michael Tarver received the chance to attack Daniel from behind and he utilized his opportunity to pin Daniel in the ring. Michael Tarver not only won the match but also confirmed his seat as a member of The Nexus. Daniel Bryan was furious on the outside interference so he attacked The Miz, Alex Riley and Michael Tarver all at once. It seemed for a moment that all three wrestlers would continue receiving a brutal beating from Daniel Bryan, but the numbers game proved too much for the former NXT rookie.
The Miz ran outside the ring and banged Daniel Bryan’s back on the boundary wall. More punishment was in store for Daniel as The Miz delivered the Skull Crushing Finale (driving his head into the Money in the Bank briefcase). It was a devastating blow for Daniel as The Miz banged his head hard on the briefcase. Daniel Bryan was down and out and The Miz and his rookie, Alex Riley had taught him a lesson. However, this is not the last the wrestling fans have seen of Daniel Bryan. Daniel will surely strike back and take revenge from the current United States Champion and the winner of the Money in the Bank Ladder match.
