What can be done to cut cost in the short term and to convince Congress they need to act now?

In the past 3 years the biggest issue Congress would look at was Steroids in Baseball. I don't want to hear this Democrat - Republican finger pointing. I am asking for solutions.

  1. Well, obviously we need to end the war in Iraq - it's the single biggest drain on the economy.

Eliminate corporate taxes.  I am a die-hard Democrat, but I also paid attention in Econ 1.  The idea is to get money circulating through the system faster, so more money can be taxed at a lower rate.  Corporations are not people.  Who do you think actually pays those taxes?  People aka consumers.

  2. Sigh.

That's what we're all wondering. But the only way to cut the costs is to shapen up the economy. That will be the next President's job.

I guess the more misery we show the Congress and the more we nag, they'll be annoyed and bring it up at the next meeting. Possible.
