Already we have hundreds of thousands of immigrants for cheap labour (mostly in our booming building industry).

We have a skilled and highly educated workforce so, you being American, have just about the same chance of any average Irish person of making a lot of money.

The minimum wage is 8.50 (but most people earn more than this as this is normally for the cheap labour).

It depends on what you work at.

The country is expensive (tax is around 35%) but Ireland has very low unemployment so living here is very much affordably.

We have been named many times as the country with the highest standard of living.

Carnal trade might make money, but ye asked for the "best" way, and I doubt that's best.  If yer near a large city, see if ye can get a job as a substitute teacher with an international school.
