Okay so I was sent 5 money order in the amount of $550 each! They are Walmart money orders, and they were sent only with a piece of paper will "please contact ryan mond*** on caltexon@gmail.com, before cashing. I looked online, because of course I was suspicious, and seen many people talking about scams similiar to this, I haven't found an exact match yet, and can't find a picture of a real Walmart money order or anything! What can I do to figure out if this is real or fake, and what do I do if I find out it's fake?!?! Please help!

  1. hey buddy, i dont think wal mart gives out money orders.

with that being said, dont deposit them or your bank will charge you overdraft fees, and another fee for rejecting the phony fundage.

its a real pain trying to sell anything over craigslist because there are a lot of scammers

i suggest you block that persons email and stop responding to his inquiries.

anytime someone says theyre going to give you more money than youre asking for, so that you can wire them the rest after the "SHIPPING COMPANY" comes to pickup the item(s) is a fraud.  no one in their right minds would give you a couple grand for something youre selling for a couple hundred.  and there isnt any such thing as an invisible shipping company who arrives once you send them the rest of the money via western union.

    i hate scammers.

please dont fall for it again.

when you get inquiries from craigslist.. say you only accept cash or paypal only.

    hope this helps !!

  2. You could take them into Walmart and ask.  Definitely do not contact that Ryan Mond person.

It's got to be a scam since people sending money orders don't just send them with pieces of paper saying 'contact so and so before cashing'.

See if Walmart will cash them for you.

  3. ok here is the deal with money orders the reason they want you to contact that person is because he's going to ask you to deposit them into your bank account the money will clear @ that point you would think they we're good the ryan guy is going to ask you to send him some of the money back for helping him do this transaction , and withing a couple of weeks the bank will eventually realize they were no good and you will be responsible for the money, then good luck trying to find ryan.

another thing they are doing online now is that they send you an email stating they are doing a home base business, for a big company lke coca cola which is processing payments and they are overwelm with so many transactions that they are opening this new deparment. they will send you the payments which come in form of money orders , you keep 15% of what ever the check is for and process the rest back to them , to throw you of they ask you to go to different money grams for money orders its steers you away from what the real reason by this time you have deposited checks into an account withdrew their share and made real money orders with your money hoping to get a whole new set of payments in by that time you did all there dirty work . its never happen to me but i know people it did and it wasnt pretty.
