Money in New Zealand?

My husband and I are going to New Zealand for 2 and a half weeks, our airfare is already paid for and our boarding is free ( we are staying with his family), and we will not be renting a car, so all of the big expenses are already covered. Is $3625 USD enough tobring and have a pretty relaxed time while we are there? I'd like to bring a few things home for my family...and take his family out to dinner and stuff.

  1. Thats more than enough money for over 2 weeks

Have a wonderful time with your family

  2. That is more than enough. You should have a great time

The current exchange rate is around $1.33 NZD = $1 USD, so you will have about $4833 New Zealand dollars.

Our average wage is $400 per week, a cup of coffee in a cafe is about $4, a 2 litre bottle of Coke is about $2 and a Big Mac is around $4.

Entry to most tourist attractions range between $15 - 25 per adult.  An average main meal in a cafe or restaurant is about $25 - $40 a plate.

And remember you don't have to tip in New Zealand unless you really want to.

You will possibly have to get an extra suitcase to take home for all the goodies you buy here (about $50-$100 for a suitcase) - lol.

    Have a fantastic time here!!!!!

  3. That is more than enough to have a very enjoyable stay here in Beautiful New Zealand.

Make sure you take something nice home for yourself too

  4. That is plenty, you have roughly what our household of 3 people have in a month to live on, and we can pay rent, petrol, food, restaurant bills etc with that. You can live it up large, enjoy NZ, it is great here.

  5. that is heaps of money!!! You will be able to spend heaps every day and then have alot left over, i hope u enjoy ur stay over here in new zeland

  6. You've got heaps of money to do all the things you've mentioned & more.  I also think you'll have some to take home with you.

NZ is such a beautiful country & I'm not just saying that because I'm a kiwi who's been living in Australia for the last year.  No matter which city or town you go too, you will find something beautiful about it.  I hope you have a wonderful time in New Zealand.

  7. You have plenty of money and should be able to take half of it home again.
