Money order help?

Okay I live in canada and want to send a money order to the US.

So I never did this before so all i know is i just should go to the post office or canada post and give them money to transfer it into am money order, I give them the name and everything. Do i have to sign anything or what. Anyways, there is a fee I think than do they just give me the money order? than do i just mail it to the address and once they get it they jsut cash it into the bank right?

  1. I would suggest going to a bank or credit union. Sometimes there is no fee if the money order is above a specific amount, like $500 or so.

    Tell the people at the bank (probably a customer service rep) that you want a personal money order and your account to debit it from. They'll make out the check, a receipt for you, and a receipt for the bank. Also tell them the person or company you want the check made out to ("payee"). You're the "remitter".

    Then, I guess you can mail it, but sending it through the post might be a little suspect. Maybe a wire transfer would be better... Anyway, I hope this helps.
