Money order problem.?

i accidentally signed the back where it says endorse here. Can i white it out?

  1. I think so, but to be safer any ways you should ask the people that you are giving it to.


  2. Absolutely do not white it out. That is called altering it, and no one will negotiate the item. The best way to handle it is to bring it back to where you got it from (the issuer) and exchange it for a new check. Or if that is not an option, and the item is small, deposit in to your bank account. Most likely noone will compare the payee and the endorsement and it will be paid. Then you can make other payment arrangements.

  3. NO! it might be easier for you to go back to the department you got the money order from and have someone there help you.

    if you're sending a friend money they are often able to endorse it under the signature you gave. money orders afterall are not secure.

    if you're sending it for a bill or to a company i would suggest contacting either their service department and asking how they handle it. or just call the store you got it from. they answer problems like this often (never trust your money questions on the internet)
