Ok so here's the scoop. I work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week. I get 20 dollars in cash per shift. Everytime I get off work, I immediately spend the $20 cash on marijuana. So at the end of the week, I usually save 20 dollars for food and gas for the week...but this week i spent my food money on marijuana also. Do I have a problem? What should I do?!

  1. It sounds like you have an emotional problem or two - although I understand marijuana is not physically addicting it can be emotionally addicting because it is a form of escape from your problems - spending your money immediately after earning it, no matter what you are buying shows you have an addictive personality problem.  You should seek help with whatever the problem that has caused you to feel you need to escape from your life - life is change and you can cause the change - good or bad - the choice is yours to make.

  2. I don't think you want to ruin you life, so stop smoking marijuana! It will get worse if you still continue doing it.

At the beginning you spent 20$ on it, later you spent all your money. Next time you are going to sell you house to have enough money on some drug??

  3. Yes, you should probably seek some sort of help.  That is definitely an addiction when you're putting yourself through personal hardship to purchase any sort of good (not food of course).

I do think the article I linked in my sources is pretty good at helping you to think about saving and investing.  But first make sure you take care of the marijuana problem. I think marijuana is only psychologically addictive, but a psychologist can help you with the underlying issues that make you want to smoke.

  4. yes.....I would say you have a problem, and the only solution is to stop smoking weed. It's that simple. You've identified it as a problem, you know the answer, now you have to do the footwork.  The only problem is, you aren't going to quit until you are ready to....or forced to (jail) or death....like a car accident - driving while stoned........find out where there is an NA meeting (narcotics anonymous) and check it out.

Don't say you can't quit.  I quit drugs (worse than pot) over 15 yrs. ago.

Like I said, the only way you'll stop is if you're ready to.  When you get 'sick and tired of being sick and tired' ....and broke and hungry! lol j/k

  5. I can see this working itself out. As you smoked your gas money, you won't show up for work so you will get fired which will mean no more weed so you will get clean.

Maybe then once the smoke clears you will find a better job so that you don't have to smoke you paycheck everyday.

  6. 1) get professional help

    2) stick all the money you get into your bank account

  7. get professional help
