  1. Any leftover bubblewrap?

Cut a big circle (2 feet across) and a load of strips (2 feet long), staple the strips round the edge of the circle and put the circle on the head. Instant jellyfish. (Can be improved if you have some pink or purple paper by cutting 4 smaller circles and sticking them under the "body" for jellyfish markings.)

My daughter did this for her last book day at school and said it was the jellyfish from the first Alex Rider book :)

  2. Go to any charity shop, cheap clothes etc......

Tell them to pick out the colours they like, and spend some time with them. Cut the material into long strips, and make them into anemones, or sea worms.

If you can get your hands on a lot of glitter and some see through plastic, jellyfish is a good one too.

If they feel involved they'll love their costumes so much more than any store brought boringness.

Get a cheap sewing machine, they take no time to learn how to use and sooooo useful.

    Good luck!

  3. Jellyfish should be fairly easy use a piece of white cloth and paint or fabric color it . Then tie strips of cloth all around the edge hanging down like the tentacles on the jellyfish.

  4. dress u daughter as a mermaid just put something on the bottom half wats long and just make it fancy at bottom like tail add silver n sequins gliter ect on , n on her top she could put a vest top on with necklace ect,  ur son u could dress him in grey and just make a card board fin and he could be a shark. or fish if nothing grey same for ur daughter if struggle with the mermaid. there also jellyfish, octopus, fish, shark, mermaid, whale, hope this helps xx

  5. Wear blue clothes they already own as the base to be the water.

Cut aquatic animal shapes out of construction paper and safety pin these to the clothes (lobsters, fish, eels).

Make a hat out of a brown paper bag and have the kids color it to look like seaweed (or make it out of green paper). You could make them like a crown.
