Yipes!

Do NOT even consider an MGX- especially a used one. MGX was the Mongoose budget brand sold at stores like Walmart.

Here is a bit of a caveat. When Brunswick (yep- the bowling alley people) bought Mongoose they implemented a "cradle to grave" marketing philosophy from which MGX was born. Because of the Mongoose legacy and the low price of MGX it became the worlds best selling brand in 2001. The quality of the bike caught up soon, however, and the best selling bike became the worlds worst quality bike- a distinction that Mongoose still hasn't shaken completely.
