Monika Stitski impresses in Women’s 400m IM heats: Day two – 2012 Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational
Monika Stitski of Wisconsin Aquatics impressed the aquatic crowd by dominating the preliminary rounds of Women’s 400m Individual Medley on second day of the 2012 Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational in Nebraska on Saturday, June 9.
The 22-year-old Stitski served notice of her talent in the distant IM discipline and made her into the playoff as top fastest swimmer. With her immaculate efforts, she stayed prominently ahead of her opponents and reached the finishing end for first position.
She continued her alluring efforts throughout the discipline and hit the finishing wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 55.07 seconds.
She was followed by Leah Stevens of Lakeside Swim Team, who remained 0.52 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing blockade with the timing of 4 minutes and 55.59 seconds for second best position.
Similarly, Stevens remained 0.95 seconds faster from Abigail Chin of University of Loughborough, who proved her mettle for third qualification spot of the event with the timing of 4 minutes and 56.54 seconds.
Chin was trailed by Alexandra Suppan of University of Denver, who remained fourth fastest swimmer of the discipline by touching the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 56.55 seconds.
Following that, the crowd witnessed mind-blowing efforts of Trevor Levalley of Wyoming Aquatics, who dominated the qualification rounds of Men’s 400m IM.
The 21-year-old Levalley showed no mercy to his opponents and made his way to the finishing end with the timing of 4 minutes and 31.19 seconds.
His fastest qualification effort remained almost one second slower from Michael Weiss of Wisconsin Aquatics, who hit the finishing wall with the second best timing of 4 minutes and 32.04 seconds.
Weiss remained only 0.16 seconds faster from Alexander Tooley of Loveland Swim Club, who secured third position of the discipline with the timing of 4 minutes and 32.20 seconds.
Subsequently, Young Tae Seo of Swim Pasadena-CA occupied fourth best qualification spot of the event by clocking an effort of 4 minutes and 33.36 seconds.
Furthermore, these challengers will face each other in the final round of their respective events at the second session of the day.
